First West

Blog - A year through the Bible.

A year through the Bible.

Posted by Brandon Rodgers on

It's a new year. With a new year, there are lots of opportunities to set out goals and resolutions. Some of those resolutions might have already been broken!

If you've found yourself already beaten by those sweets or the too-cold temperatures to work out, don't worry. Keep trying.

As we look at 2018 at First West, I am so excited about what God is going to do. Our Lead Pastor Michael Wood and our preaching team have worked hard to prepare for the days ahead.

We're going to be journeying through the entire story of the Bible. Sometimes we look at the Bible as these separate books that aren't connected, however, there is a significant thread that permeates throughout all of scripture.

Take a look at this:

So what does a Year Through the Bible look like?

We will spend dedicated time tracking the entire scope of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. We'll look at specific passages throughout the entirety of the Scriptures. We'll keep things grouped together like we normally do with sermon series.

Our first series is called "Beginnings." We'll look at Genesis and how God created the world, His people, and how He wants to have a part in your own life.

There will be a great opportunity to follow along throughout the week with a daily reading plan. Those will be available at your campuses. The daily reading plan gives you a passage to read. We hope that this will grow your love of Jesus and His word.
