Volunteer Opportunities
Listed below are the ways that people serve our church. We'd invite you to consider where God would want you to bless others.
Adult Ministry
Life Groups are the heartbeat of our church. Volunteers can serve these groups by teaching or being an Outreach or Fellowship Coordinator for a group. Another area to serve with adults is in pastoral care ministries. You can serve adults by making hospital visits and serving in all sorts of ways.
Hospitality Team
Volunteers on our Hospitality Team are the first people our guests and attendees come in contact with at weekend services. They greet people before services, serve in our Information Center, build relationships with those who are considering membership at First West, and take care of
Safety & Security Team
We are committed to your families' safety. We are looking for men and women with experience in law enforcement, security, medical or firefighting. This ministry will help provide campus safety, parking lot security, emergency medical response and meet other needs. If you are experienced or simply have the desire to serve, we will supply the training.
Extended Care/Nursery
Volunteers in our nursery care for our infants and toddlers. Volunteers check-in children, play games, teach the
Children/Preschool
Volunteers minister in the Lil' Treehouse and The Treehouse worship gatherings. Volunteers tell Bible stories, sing songs, lead small groups, play games, and check-in children.
Worship
Volunteers on our Worship team use their gifts and abilities to minister to the church body through music. They lead worship at weekend services and other ministries and events throughout the week and sing or play an instrument in the worship band.
Production
Volunteers in production help make Sunday morning services happen. Whether you are interested in operating cameras, mixing audio, running lights, or putting lyrics on screen, volunteers help our members meet with Jesus on Sundays. Volunteers can also serve during the week by helping with graphic design,
Weekday Office Workers
There are many moving parts that have to come together in order for our church to operate efficiently. Volunteers can answer phones, help sort mail, and can distribute information to our Life Group information.
Thrift Store
Volunteers are needed to work at the First West Thrift Store. The store receives so much merchandise and needs help getting items ready to come into the store. Also, volunteers can serve customers by picking up furniture donations. Share the love the of Jesus to those in need.
Broaden Horizons
Volunteers can serve children and teenagers in schools across Ouachita Parish. Volunteers will help with tutoring, mentoring, and teaching.
Care & Compassion
Volunteers can love on those who want to be engaged in the church but can not attend due to health reasons or age. Volunteers can visit nursing homes that members are living in. They can also visit the homes of widows and widowers.
Students
Volunteers can serve our teens by leading small groups on Sundays or Wednesday nights. They can also help with production for our Wednesday night services, or in work in the cafe. Another way that volunteers can serve is by welcoming students at our check-in station.
