There’s a place for you to make a difference at First West.
We exist to see people changed by the Gospel and living out their Christ-centered purpose. We believe a marker for a growing Christian is that they are serving in and out of the church regularly. The need to serve within our church campuses is significant. There are many moving parts to what we do. You matter to God. Your service to Him matters. Listed below are just some of the ways you can serve in our church. Let us know where you would like to serve.
First West Students
Invest in the next generation on Sundays and Wednesdays. Lead small groups. Help with worship production. Welcome students. Show students that loving God and following Him can be fun and fulfilling.
First West Kids
Be a part of creating an environment each weekend where kids learn that God loves them, we believe in them and that church can be fun.
Preschool & Nursery
Provide a safe and secure environment for newborns, toddlers, and pre-Kindergarten children. Teach these little children the simple truths of God’s word and how much He loves them.
Be a part of a dynamic team of musicians and vocalists who lead our church weekly in worship services. These people lead the way for our entire church to experience the presence of God.
Production & Creative
Lights! Camera! Action! Be the person who allows others to connect in worship by delivering the Word and worship through audio, video, and lighting. You can also be a creative voice to promotion, social media, web design, and photography. Help tell our church’s story.
Be the first person a guest meets and create an atmosphere of welcome for them. Serve as an usher, pour some coffee, and help people take their Next Steps at First West.
Safety & Security
This unit of care providers serves First West with basic medical attention, campus safety, and security to our guests.
We have many LIFE Groups that need teachers, outreach, and fellowship coordinators. You have the opportunity to facilitate life change through the context of relationships and community.
Weekday Office Workers
Lots of ministry takes place during the week. Help us answer phones, sort mail, run errands for ministry leaders, distribute information to be ready for Sunday.
Care and Compassion
We love people. People matter to God. Visit nursing homes where our members reside. Visit widows and widowers who want to come to church but are not able to. Check in on members who are in the hospital.
Help with tutoring, mentoring, and teaching children after school throughout Ouachita Parish.
Our Thrift Store gives away its profits to make a difference all over Northeast Louisiana. Help tag and prepare items for sale, restock the floor with items to sell, test electronics, and meet the needs of customers.
